BLACK PEOPLE URGED TO BUILD PERSONAL LIBRARIES A Special Spring
Message and Offer from H. Khalif Khalifah FEBRUARY 1, 2009
SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, VA – As I prepare to host my first radio
program this coming Wednesday, “Khalifah’s Booknotes” on
www.harambeeradio.com, I want to impress on black people the
importance of building personal libraries. I have helped to
establish many bookstores throughout the NBC (National Black
Community). I am now developing a program that will make it
possible for individuals to establish large collections of books
by, for and about Black people. After 35 years in the book industry
as Publisher, Printer, Distributor, writer, editor, and collector
of books, I’ll now make many in my inventory of about 1200 titles
available to the general community. NAT TURNER DISCOUNT BOOKSTORE
TO OPEN I am going to open The Nat Turner discount bookstore this
spring on Khalifah’s Estate, in Southampton County, Virginia. The
discounts that are usually available only to businesses, will now
be available to individuals who are serious about building large,
or moderate libraries in their homes. I know many folk who have
built sizable collections one or two books at a time. I am now
making it possible to collect with the purchase of ten or twenty
books at a time at trade discounts. Some credit will also be
available (just as it is for good wholesale and bookstore buyers).
The books that are available are not “extra” or outdated titles. As
anyone can see by going to
http://blackwritersalliance.com .
Individuals can come in and select the collections in person, or we
will ship the most economical way. Ideally, you will call your
order in advance, we’ll have it ready for you when you arrive.
However, we will be ready to take orders, and ship books, or email
khalifahpublishing@khabooks.com For every book that the buyer
purchases, we will give them five books free from our inventory.
The book will be of our choosing, but the ‘choosing’ will be from a
preferred list by the buyer. I am going to post about 100 titles at
the above Place for The Black Writers Alliance: Go there and click
on “My Photos” to view a partial list of books. Remember to tune in
to
www.harambeeradio.com this Wednesday to ask your question in
Cyber. As we began a new year, and a renewed commitment “to make my
maximum contribution to the total uplift, total freedom of Black
people, this offering will be accepted in that light. Call (704)
